Construction firm replaces a troubled VPN with a single-tunnel design and gets its remote applications working again
A national commercial construction and renewable-energy contractor. Outcome verified
The problem
A national construction contractor worked across offices, job sites and two cloud providers, and the pieces did not connect reliably. Routing between branches and the cloud misbehaved, remote users hit application and name-resolution problems over VPN, and servers were still built by hand. The internal team could keep operations running but could not also take on specialized routing, automation and cloud-cost work.
Why it mattered
Unreliable hybrid connectivity meant downtime risk for field and finance applications, while hand-built infrastructure slowed delivery and left cloud spend unexamined.
What we did
Rather than a one-off assessment, Vizius embedded fractional network and DevOps engineers under a retainer with dated deliverables. The VPN was redesigned around a single tunnel and proven in a lab before a phased rollout. Routing changes were also tested in the lab first, and a code-driven build let a server be deployed, domain-joined and configured without manual steps.
What changed
By mid-2026, the redesigned VPN had resolved the application and name-resolution issues and was in phased deployment. The branch-to-cloud routing migration was technically complete, and code-driven server provisioning worked end to end. The client renewed for a second six-month term.
