Market-data provider goes from full compromise in four hours to two findings across four years of benchmarking
A global financial market-data provider. Outcome verified
The problem
A global financial market-data provider had grown fast and never measured its security posture. Leadership wanted an honest, attacker's-eye view before customers and supply-chain partners started asking for one, then wanted it refreshed as the business changed. A lean engineering team, three environments and no security program meant findings had to be prioritized hard rather than delivered as a long list.
Why it mattered
The company runs a large public-cloud footprint and holds customer data. A breach or extended outage would hit revenue, customer trust and its standing in supply chains.
What we did
Vizius paired a quantified breach-impact model and a CIS-based program review with hands-on network, cloud and web testing, so every finding was ranked by severity and cost to fix. It then re-ran the benchmark on a cadence so leadership could see movement rather than a fresh pile of findings.
What changed
The 2021 baseline showed near-complete internal compromise in roughly four hours and critical cloud weaknesses in every audited area. By the 2025 update, external testing produced one high and one medium finding, the primary cloud tenant held after a captured session, and the posture review recorded strengths across most controls.
