Small software vendor runs a bank-grade security program for three years without a security hire
A small financial-software vendor serving banks. Outcome verified
The problem
A small financial-software vendor serving banks had no security program, nobody watching for suspicious activity, and no answers for customer security questionnaires. Leadership knew it needed to show due care but could not justify a full-time hire while its handful of staff rewrote the core product.
Why it mattered
Banking customers expected evidence of a program. Without it sales friction grew, and a credential compromise could reach client financial data.
What we did
Vizius acted as the outsourced security function for a fixed monthly fee, anchoring the work to the CIS Controls and a written security program it could show customers. Each month it ran phishing tests and vulnerability and credential-compromise scans and a one-page dashboard leadership could read in minutes, while building policies and continuity and incident-response plans as small, finishable projects.
What changed
Over 38 months the program delivered policies, a SIEM, monthly scanning, a business impact analysis, and continuity and incident-response plans. The final dashboards showed zero phishing clicks, with every employee reporting the test phish, zero critical vulnerabilities and zero compromised accounts. The client published a customer-facing overview of its program.
